If you want to make a routing and date change to stopover in Fiji, you will fly:
Brisbane to Auckland to Nadi (Fiji) to Los Angeles

Flights schedules:
From Brisbane to Auckland - daily
From Auckland to Nadi - daily, BUT not all days connect with the flight from Brisbane, so you may need to spend a night in Auckland (see hostel info below).
From Nadi to Los Angeles - Mon, Thurs, Sat
